Left Bangkok with 8 passengers, could have had more but no room. Heading for Kuala Lumpur, had a good breakfast at Mamma San’s, stopped in town to change money. Finally got on the road about 1pm.decided not to bother about the service book and tow rope. Drove all day stopping every 400 miles to eat, took the road down the right coast and had to go all the way back so adding 100 miles to our journey. Stopped finally at 2 am at a police post, had a smoke and slept like a log, everybody sleeping bodies all over the place.
(Note. 5 English lads, 1 American, 1 French 1 Swiss and Syl all squashed in the back of LD. Service book and tow rope the Indian family had removed from LD)
The landscape passing down Thailand was really volcanic, the road passing through craters of extinct volcanoes with the vertical sides covered in lava.
