First move towards parting with LD, we had to get permission to sell. Margo’s Landover was round the back of the garage minus the engine, it was unrecognisable resprayed, new windows fitted, only way we new it was Margo’s was she had 2 gas bottle brackets fitted underneath. Went to check the post restante didn’t think there would be anything because we had told everyone to write to Singapore. 2 letters there one fromBevs mum addressed to ‘the post office Malaya’ don’t know how we got it but we did, and one from Hallmark in Bangkok, he reckons there’s a way round selling. But were going through with this now. Staying in a cheap hotel in town only $5m between us, had the first wash with hot water since Tehran. Kuala Lumper is a very clean civilised place, the very old and the new side by side, nobody bothers you or tries to hassle you, and it’s very orderly like home.
