Boat Leaves Singapore

Written by on Tuesday, July 28, 1970

Woke up to see land passing but were still in Singapore waters, they did a trip around the Island to test engines. We sailed about 8am. Doing14 knots heading for Sumatra and Jakarta. We have to go between the islands then on to Australia. Been a good day on board, really getting to know people, 2 from Chester, played dominoes most of the day to pass the time. Panicked a bit at meal time supposed to be jackets and ties, none of the overlanders have either jackets or ties, but it turned out ok no one seemed to be bothered. Had a few beers at the bar nice to sit and have a chat, a lot of the Aussies holidaying are interested in what we have done, so keep buying us drinks and asking questions.
